Turmeric Spiced Banana Cake

The recipe that we are going to talk about today, provides tons of health benefits, and the turmeric that it contains will just amplify these health benefits.

According to the researchers, turmeric contains the most potent anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties, out of all ingredients in existence. Precisely because of that, turmeric is considered to be a super spice.

Turmeric is most commonly used in savory dishes, curries, but you can also add it to cakes, like the one that we are going to talk about. It is important to say that this cake is delicious, and it is free of gluten, dairy, and sugar. The combination of banana and chai spices are perfect, and that is what makes the cake taste so good. It can also be consumed with a cup of herbal tea in the mornings, or even as an afternoon snack.

The recipe

Ingredients:

  • One tablespoon of turmeric latte powder
  • One teaspoon of bicarbonate soda
  • One teaspoon of coconut flour
  • Three-quarters cup of buckwheat flour
  • Three free-range, organic eggs
  • Four ripe organic bananas
  • Coconut sugar, or organic honey, in order to make it taste better (this one is optional)

How to prepare it:

The first thing that you will need to do is to heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius). Then, put the bananas and the eggs in a blender, in order to create a smooth and creamy mixture. This is what makes the cake fluffy.

Then, take a larger bowl, and mix the turmeric latte powder, coconut flour, buckwheat flour, and bicarbonate soda. After that, you will need to add the egg and banana mixture into the bowl and mix the two ingredients, until you get a homogenous mixture.

If you notice that this mixture is too wet, you will need to add just a little bit more buckwheat flour. And, if you prefer the cake to be sweeter, you can add some coconut sugar or organic honey.

Then, bake the cake for about 30 minutes, and when the color becomes golden-brown, it is ready to be taken out. Leave it to cool down, and then serve it with your morning tea, or enjoy it as an afternoon snack.
