This is what happens to your heart when you drink a lot of energy drinks

Caffeine can offer us many health benefits like improving mental alertness, headaches, and it can even treat some conditions like asthma and diabetes.

But these properties can become very bad, when this compound is added to drinks that contain artificial stimulants, toxins and sweeteners. It can even lead to heart attack.

This was the case with Cory Terry, a 33-year-old man, who died as a result of consuming just one Red Bull, which is one of the most, if not the most famous energy drink in the world.

Patricia Terry his mother, explained that her son was non-smoker and physically active man, who drank this drink on a daily basis.

According to a study that was published by Mayo Clinic Proceedings, energy drinks like Red Bull can cause great damage to people that are having cardiovascular problems. In a trial that involved 15 individuals, each one of them received two cans of energy drink with the same ingredients as Red Bull, every day for seven days, showed the elevation in their blood pressure by 8 percent just four hours after consuming the drink. At the end of the trial, their blood pressure was raised to 10%.

These factors further increased the risk of heart attack, because high heart rates are linked with increased risks of heart attack. Also, the high blood pressure can damage the arteries, which can lead to stroke.

To put things into perspective, we are going to look at the ingredients list of the Red Bull. It is loaded with carbonation and sugar, and the main ingredients are various stimulants among which taurine and caffeine. The biggest concern here is that there are virtually no researches done on these combinations, and the people do not know what impact do they actually have on the human body.

You should always keep in mind that energy drinks like Red Bull are harmful for the heart, and it is better that you avoid them. If you need an energy boost, you can always drink coffee instead.
