To examine the matter more thoroughly, Dr.Peter J. D’Adamo, created the Blood Type Diet guide. He explains that this is not a typical weight-loss diet as you imagine to be, but actually it is a diet according to your blood type.

Type A 

Dr. D’Adamo says that people who are A blood type should follow a vegetarian diet. By replacing meat with vegetables, they will boost the metabolism and lose weight. He emphasizes the fact that consuming organic foods is crucial for this blood type. People who belong to this group, have a very sensitive immune system and this diet will help them boost their immune system and prevent diseases.

Type B 

Dr. D’Adamo says that people who are B blood type have the genetic predisposition to be susceptible to chronic stress as their body releases more cortisol. If they eat corn, sesame, seeds, lentils, chicken, peanuts, wheat, tomatoes, and buckwheat, the risk of gaining weight is increased. Dr. D’Adamo recommends that these people should replace these foods with goat, lamb, mutton, rabbit, and consume low-fat dairy and green vegetables more often.

Type AB 

People who are AB blood type have low stomach acid, but prefer eating meat. As a result, their stomach’s ability to digest food slows down and the meat is stored as fat. So, they should eat measured meals to avoid digestive disorders. They should also lower their caffeine and alcohol intake and consume seafood, dairy, tofu, and green vegetables. Also, smoked meats should not be included in their diet.

Type 0 

Unlike the previous group, people with blood type 0 have high levels of stomach acid. This means that they easily digest meals high in fat and protein. Meat, fruits and vegetables are especially recommended to this group, but they should avoid simple carbohydrates, especially grains. Additionally, they should avoid consuming wheat and dairy products and reduce the amount of caffeine and alcohol.
