People have been using natural remedies in order to treat injuries and diseases for thousands of years. The benefit of the natural remedies is that they improve the healing process of the body, while the commercial products only relieve the pain.

The human body’s natural healing ability requires that tissues and organs work together, and various herbs and plants support this system.

Wild lettuce grows throughout England and North America, and it is very effective natural medicine against pain. This plant has yellow flowers and it can grow tall, up to 7 feet.

It contains some potent pain-relieving and sedative properties. It can relax the body and treat insomnia, while soothing anxiety and spasms at the same time. It can also relax the muscles and calm the nervous system, and it is very useful in cases of:

  • Restlessness
  • Cramps and spasms
  • Coughs
  • Insomnia
  • Stress-induced indigestion

It will also offer relief for menstrual cramps, muscle pain and other irritated tissues. It will provide numbing effects, and because of that ability, it is also known as opium lettuce.

In order to use wild lettuce as a remedy, you must use its dry leaves. These leaves need to be picked in July and August.

Use two to four ml. tincture three times a day, or one to two teaspoons of dried leaves, previously steeped in boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes.

If you apply it directly on your skin, your skin might get irritated, so make sure that you do a small patch test before using it. Also, pregnant women should avoid using this remedy, as well as people that are suffering from enlarged prostate, allergy to ragweed or glaucoma.

You should remember that you should always opt for natural remedies, because they are an effective and safe method that will greatly improve your health.
