Stop These Bad Habits to Reduce Belly Fat

There are several reasons why your stomach is bloated all the time and you experience difficulties losing belly fat.

You should stop the following bad habits in order to reduce your waist size.

You eat fast 

If you eat fast, you will also swallow too much air which produces gases. Excessive gas leads to bloating that increases the size of your stomach. The air which is trapped in the digestive tract affects your digestion. To be more precise, when you don’t chew the food slowly, larger pieces of the food will stay in the gut because they are not completely digested. Also, you end up overeating. So, in order to prevent overeating and bloated stomach, eat slowly.

You are addicted to soda 

Soda contains artificial sweeteners and the gas carbon dioxide. So, when drinking it, you swallow both liquid and gas bubbles which cause bloating. Avoid consuming carbonated drinks in order to prevent bloating.

You consume packaged foods 

Packaged foods are high in sodium. Sodium causes water retention and increases your blood pressure. Processed foods, smoked, salted or canned meat, and even foods like salad dressings, soups, and cereals are high-sodium foods. Increase the intake of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables to hydrate your body and prevent water retention.

You eat close to bedtime 

Eating your dinner an hour or two before bedtime usually leads to weight gain. Your metabolism is slower during the night and the body is not able to break down the ingested food when you are in a lying position. So, have your dinner 3 to 4 hours before you go to sleep. In case you had a dinner right before going to sleep, you should take yogurt or a piece of fruit.

Food allergy 

You might have a food intolerance that you are not aware of. People with wheat allergy are unable to digest gluten. Therefore, gluten intolerance results in bloating, cramps, diarrhea, and sickness.
