Speeding up the metabolism is the best way to lose weight. There are number of foods that can help you do this, but you must always pay attention to the spices that you use.
The scientists from the Medical Science University of Iran conducted a study recently, in which they divided the 88 obese women into 2 groups.
They had to eat healthy foods and had to consume less than 500 calories a day. The difference between the two groups were the spices. Group number 1 consumed 3 gr. of cumin in a combination with 140 gr. of yogurt every morning, and the group number 2 consumed the yogurt but without the cumin.
The first group, showed amazing results. After only a one-month period, they managed to lose 30 pounds more than the second group. The fat loss of the first group was 14.64% compared to only 4.91% of the second.
The main substance of the cumin is called filosterole and it prevents the cholesterol retention in the body. This is the reason why cumin can help us lose weight, because it speeds up the metabolism.
