Eating this for breakfast will help you lose weight faster than you expect

Most nutritionists and health experts agree on the topic that breakfast is the key meal of the day. It should consist of flavorful and healthy ingredients, so you need to make sure that you always pick the right foods.

There are also people who believe that skipping breakfast is the fastest way to losing weight, but this is wrong because you will feel unhealthy cravings all day.

A recent study suggests that oatmeal is the healthiest breakfast that you can have. The results were published in the Annals of Nutrition & Metabolism. 36 men and women participated in the study and they were divided into three groups. Each one of the participants was supposed to eat 350 calories every day. Group number 1 had oatmeal, group number 2 cornflakes and group number 3 had only water for breakfast. All of them had the same options for lunch.

The experts measured the levels of satiety in every individual in the next 3 hours. They also checked their insulin and blood sugar levels.

It turned out that oatmeal was the healthiest option for obese people, because they ingested 50% less calories for lunch, while the participants in the remaining two groups had to eat something after three hours. Oatmeal will keep you full for longer period of time.

These results were confirmed in other studies.

Oats contain fiber that prevent cravings and keep you full for longer. It helps you lose weight and enhances digestion.

  1. Blood pressure

They also contain lignin that can regulate the blood pressure by 30 percent. In order to notice the improvements, you will need to eat oats more often.

  1. Cholesterol

Fiber that can be found in oats, will reduce the levels of bad cholesterol and it will attach to the fats. Oatmeal can reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease.

  1. Cancer

The British Medical Journal published a study which shows that oats contain nutrients that can reduce the risk of breast, ovarian, prostate and colon cancer.
