There are many people that do not look enough after their kidneys, because they take them for granted.
In fact, kidneys are tasked with one of the most important jobs in the human body, to make sure that everything that is considered to be toxic gets thrown out of it and to filter your blood.
But, if you are leading an unhealthy lifestyle you can make this, like any other organ, stop functioning properly. Your unhealthy habits will make the work that the kidneys are performing, become more and more challenging for them.
The thing that we are trying to say here is that you need to detoxify your kidneys every now and then. The easiest and most important thing to do is to drink lots of water. Staying hydrated and toxin free will prevent kidney stones from forming and it will prevent some other medical conditions and diseases.
Parsley will actually impress you
Parsley is packed with folate and iron, as well as vitamins A, C and K. All of those compounds play an important role in keeping your kidneys in sharp condition.
Also it is a very healthy plant that can do a lot of other things like:
- It can lower the fats in your blood (antihyperlipidemic)
- It can prevent liver toxicity (antihepatotoxic)
- It can help manage menstruation (estrogenic)
- It can lower your blood pressure (antihypertensive)
According to the researchers, drinking parsley tea greatly benefits your kidneys, because it helps increase the flow and the production of urine. This means that it can easily flush out the kidney stones, and prevent the salt that you consume every day, from being absorbed into the tissue of the kidneys.
- A bunch of organic fresh (you may also use dried) parsley leaves
- Lemon juice (freshly squeezed from half a lemon)
- 8 cups of filtered water
- 2 tablespoons of organic, raw honey
How to prepare it:
You can start by washing and then copping the parsley leaves. Just make sure that the pieces that you chop-up are large enough. Then, boil the water, and when it reaches its boiling point, add the leaves and then lower the heat. Let it simmer for around ten minutes and then let it cool down.
You can enhance the taste of this tea, by adding one teaspoon of honey. You will need to drink this tea once or twice a day.
Please be advised that pregnant women must not drink this tea, because it can cause pregnancy complications. Also, people that are suffering from kidney diseases, must first consult with their doctor, before deciding to give this tea a try.
