Cucumber is one of the oldest vegetables in the world. There are variations of this vegetable that can be grown almost anywhere on the planet.
Cucumbers contain high amounts of fiber and because they are 95% water, they also are a low calorie food. Cucumbers can be used for various hair, eyes and skin treatments.
Sun burn: If you apply cucumber puree or thinly sliced cucumbers over your body, you will immediately start to feel the cooling effect. They can naturally restore the moisture that the skin needs, especially after being exposed to the sun. Cucumbers also contain vitamins C and A, which can help rejuvenate your skin.
Puffy eyes: This is the most common cucumber treatment in the world. The reason that is so popular is fairly simple. It just works! Cucumbers contain antioxidants and flavonoids that can decrease the skin irritation, redness and swelling.
Acne: Cucumber can reduce the inflamed skin that was caused by acne. You can try adding turmeric powder to a cucumber puree and then add a couple of drops of lemon. Then apply it on the affected skin for up to 15 minutes and then wash it off with water.
Cucumbers fight cellulite: You can reduce cellulite if you apply cucumber puree on the affected areas of your body. The reason why cucumbers are effective against cellulite is because they aid the production of collagen (which adds elasticity and structure to the tissue)
Anti-aging mask: You can create a natural anti-aging mask using cucumber. To do that, mix cucumber puree, 2 tablespoons of organic plain yogurt, half a teaspoon of lemon juice, a tablespoon of honey and aloe (1-3 tablespoons) together, and then apply this mixture to your face two times a week for 10-15 minutes. When the time is up, wash the mask off with cold water.
Hair conditioner: You can add cucumber puree to your hair after you wash it. Leave it there for 10 minutes and then rinse it with water.
