10 Horrifying Ingredients That Prove McDonald’s Is not Fit for Consumption

We all know that fast food is not good for our health.

Also, they choose McDonald’s regarding it as the best fast food brand, but its food contains toxic ingredients that can take serious toll on your health.

  1. Silicone health

You probably love those tasty chicken nuggets, but they contain silicone oil (dimethylpolysiloxane). This is a synthetic material, which is used in the process of making caulking, contact lenses, lubricants, and silly putty. Silicone breast implants are filled with silicone gel, but its use has been decreased due to safety reasons.

  1. Ammonium sulfate

This is an inorganic salt. It can be used as a flame retardant and fertilizer. Ammonium sulfate, which has also been used in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, has been found in burger bun. This dangerous ingredient can cause gastrointestinal disorders, hormone imbalance, diarrhea and nausea.

  1. TBHQ

Tertiary butylhydroquinone, is an additive based on petroleum. It is used as an ingredient in many cosmetic products and 18 McDonald’s products. The FDA has proclaimed TBHQ as a totally safe ingredient to consume, but if you often intake this ingredient, it can cause stomach cancer, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) symptoms, and damaged DNA.

  1. Cysteine-L

Cysteine-L is an amino acid which is directly synthesized from duck feathers or human hair. Its main use is softening pastries and bread, and also to flavor meat. If you often consume food with this ingredient in it, it can cause various health conditions like vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, rashes, fever, low blood pressure, and liver disorders.

According to a study conducted by the Johns Hopkins University, the chicken foods contain antidepressants and other banned drugs.

  1. Propylene glycol

This substance is one of the ingredients found in antifreeze, fast-food and e-cigarettes. It can affect your nervous system, cause eye problems, skin conditions, and worsen the symptoms of an allergy.

  1. Carminic acid

Carminic acid is a red food dye. You probably didn’t know this but it is derived by cochineal beetles. It gives the fast food a more appealing color. The FDA has categorized it as a natural dye, but also requires cochineal extract and carmine to be clearly identified, in order to be sure of preventing any allergic reactions.

  1. Dimethylpolysiloxane

This ingredient is found in cooking oils. The McDonald’s company uses it for preparing McDonald’s chicken nuggets, filet-o-fish and French fries. Along with the culinary properties of this substance, it is also used in the production of contact lenses, caulking, breast implants, heat resistant tiles, shampoos and other cosmetic products.

  1. Silicon dioxide

This substance is more known as industrial sand or silica. Glass, cement and optical fibers production need silicon dioxide. Also, it is used in the preparation of fast-food because it prevents sauces and meat from sticking together. When used for industrial purposes, the workers must use protective equipment such as masks and hazmat suits.

  1. Cellulose

It is not recommended for food preparation. It can be a natural product derived from wood pulp, but it is an additive which makes you eat more of it.
