COPD or “Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease” is a term that covers a set of lung conditions as well as emphysema, chronic bronchitis and bronchiectasis.
These diseases inhibit the elasticity of the lungs and restrict the airways, which leads to breathing difficulties. This conditions can worsen overtime, and can even have fatal consequences.
The five most common symptoms of COPD are:
- Tightness in the chest area
- Difficulty and pain when drawing breath
- Increased sputum amounts
- Frequent episodes of fatigue
- Loss of breath after a minor physical activity
When COPD reaches its final stages, the patients must have a constant supply of oxygen. The drugs that are commonly prescribed, are most of the time dangerous, because they can have serious side-effects. Because of this fact, patients often times decide to give a medical cannabis a try as an alternative to the drugs.
It does not cause side effects, and it relieves the patients from their symptoms. They use a vaporizer and breathe it in. In the case of COPD, there is other more effective natural way to use cannabis. Rick Simpson invented a new method of ingestion in the form of an oil extract.
Cannabis can be helpful against diseases and conditions like:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Crohn’s disease
- Chronic epilepsy
The patients that have an advanced stages of COPD, can benefit a lot from these cannabis treatments.
Jeff Waters (28) was diagnosed with COPD and was forced into ER, because of a severe bout of bronchitis. The doctors told him that his lungs were already affected and that he had stage 2 COPD.
He soon found out that all the conventional methods of treatment and drugs did not help him get better, and soon he was not even able to climb the stairs of his house. When he entered the third stage of COPD, he had to use oxygen cylinder, even in the shower.
He was eventually hospitalized, suffering from severe pneumonia, and put on a life supporting machine. His condition worsened because he had an allergic reaction to one of the drugs that was previously prescribed to him. This was some sort of a wakeup call for him, because it was then when he decided to try and treat himself using alternative ways.
He read online about many people and their experiences with cannabis as a COPD treatment. Their stories convinced him and he began using cannabis oil for around two months. After 60 days he was getting much better and he could finally get rid of the oxygen cylinder.
Today, he claims that it was cannabis oil that gave him his life back and he is now able to enjoy his great overall health. He even walks up to five miles every day.
