The groups were assigned to Bagel (B), Egg (E), Bagel Diet (BD) and Egg Diet (ED) groups. What this means is that the participants got breakfast either with eggs, or bagels. Each breakfast contained around 340 calories and matched an energy density and total energy for 5 days per week.
After eight weeks the ED group showed approximately 61% greater reduction in BMI, when compared to the BD group. According to the scientists, weight loss occurs as the result of the combination of the eggs and the energy deficient diet. But, this certainly does not mean that you need to consume eggs and do nothing afterward. You need to be careful of what you consume rest of the time in order to lose some weight.

According to the researchers, the inclusion of eggs in a weight loss program can offer a nutritious supplement that can boost weight loss. What is more, the consumption of eggs can bring health benefits to young but especially older people.
For the older people, the best diet is the one that is packed with proteins. The benefits from this type of diet are stroke prevention and an increase in muscle strength.
There is a recommendation in the UK for the right amount of protein a person should consume on a daily basis. It is recommended that a person should ingest around 0.75 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.
This means that if you weigh 70 kilograms, you need to consume around 52.5 grams of protein. People in general, do not eat enough protein. Older people need to consume it more in order to prevent stroke.
According to a study that was published in 2014, people who have more protein in their daily diet, have 20% fewer chances of having a stroke.
